About
This world is but a canvas to our imagination. - Henry David Thoreau
Photographer, Salina Canizales, is often found exploring the streets of Los Angeles on foot with her camera. Always drawn to the art of photography, it wasn't until she moved back to Los Angeles as an adult that she began to start documenting her view of life in the city.
Canizales grew up in Eugene, Oregon where she developed her love of storytelling through writing. Upon her move to Los Angeles, the city and its culture were her biggest inspiration to continue telling stories, but through photography. With a primary focus on documenting Latino culture, most of her work would be categorized a s street photography and portraiture. While Los Angeles was her initial inspiration, Canizales continues to travel throughout Latin America, documenting the people and culture unique to each place she visits.
